Applies professional concepts, department/unit and campus / medical center / OP policies and procedures to resolve a variety of complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Analyzes complex issues. Within defined procedures and practices, determine appropriate action. The Information Systems (IS) analyst plays a crucial role in shaping how School of Dentistry (SoD) faculty, staff, and learners experience technology across its clinical, education, and research mission. The IS Analyst utilizes a broad understanding of IT to administer systems, support users, implement systems, and continuously improve operations. The IS analyst collaborates with stakeholders across UCSF and external vendors to implement and maintain solutions. Ideal candidates will combine technical knowledge with analytical problem-solving, project coordination skills, and a strong customer-focused mindset. We provide comprehensive oral health care services with over 120,000 patient visits per year.  We offer a four-year DDS program as well as a two-year program for international dentists that culminates in the DDS degree.  We have numerous specialty residencies, PhD and Master’s degree programs in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, a combined DDS-PhD program, and a combined PhD-dental specialty training program. Other graduate programs include Craniofacial and Mesenchymal Biology and Bioengineering, and a DDS/MBA program. UCSF Dental Center UCSF Dental Center is a cohesive entity within the structure of UCSF’s School of Dentistry that oversees and operates all clinical activities in the dental school. Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. - 3+ years of relevant progressive experience - Broad knowledge of various areas of IT, including systems administration, server management, networking, client-side support, and vendor management. - Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals, and software. Understanding of and experience in troubleshooting client, server, and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination, and analysis. - Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices, and policies, including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Demonstrated skill at administering moderately complex security controls and configurations to computer hardware, software, and networks. - Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner. - Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users, and dependent/related functions. - Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner. - Works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification, and implementation. Basic knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications. - Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development, and application of technology and systems to meet business needs. - Demonstrated experience with database administration. Working knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases. - Familiarity with logical data design, data mapping, or data conversion. - Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. - Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements. - Experience working in a healthcare setting
