JOB SUMMARY

Working within a fast-paced, high-acuity centralized telemetry environment, the Monitor Technician plays an important role in patient safety through the early detection and timely reporting of cardiac arrhythmias, potentially life-threatening rhythms, and oxygen desaturations.

Responsibilities include obtaining, analyzing, and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips each shift and whenever significant rhythm changes occur.

The Monitor Technician works collaboratively with telemetry nurses and nursing staff across multiple inpatient units and campuses to support effective communication, timely clinical response, and continuity of patient monitoring. Using state-of-the-art telemetry technology, the Monitor Technician contributes to around-the-clock centralized monitoring for a large and diverse adult inpatient population while maintaining accuracy, attentiveness, professionalism, and teamwork in a highly dynamic environment.
