5Required Qualifications: - High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. - Minimum of four (4) years of p
>revious Sterile Processing Technician experience. - Knowledge of all areas of Sterile Processing Dep 
>artment (SPD) operations, including:- Decontamination - Inspection, assembly, and packaging across a 
>ll service lines - Sterilization of packaged medical devices - Quality control (QC) and sterilizatio 
>n recordkeeping - Distribution of sterile products - Preparation, building, and quality assurance (Q 
>A) of case carts - Ability to operate sterile processing machinery and equipment, including:- Steril 
>izers - Washers - Ultrasonic cleaners - Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center lo 
>cations. - Strong communication and customer service skills. - Demonstrated leadership abilities. -  
>Basic knowledge of computer systems, including Windows operating systems and keyboard and mouse oper 
>ations. - Demonstrated ability to competently perform multiple complex tasks. - Detailed knowledge o 
>f:- Medical terminology - Departmental policies and procedures - Regulatory standards - Leading indu 
>stry practices - Knowledge of standard precautions for safety and prevention of cross-contamination. 
> - Detailed knowledge of sterilization and cleaning equipment. - Ability to communicate effectively, 
> both verbally and in writing. - Ability to understand, speak, and write English sufficiently to com 
>municate effectively with nursing, technical, and medical staff. - Ability to safely move heavy tray 
>s and equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods. Required Licenses / Certific 
>ations: - Current Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST), IAHCSMM or C 
>ertified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), CBSPD, or Surgical Technologist Cer 
>tification (CST). - If CST certified, must obtain an SPD certification within one year of hire and m 
>aintain certification thereafter. - Advanced certification, such as a Surgical Instrument Specialist 
>, SPD Manager or other advanced SPD certification Preferred Qualifications: - Previous lead or super 
>visory experience in a sterile processing setting. - Previous preceptor experience. - Bachelor’s deg 
>ree in a healthcare-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
