2The Athletic Trainer (AT) will work primary out of the Orthopaedic Institute on the Mission Bay Camp
>us of UCSF. The position entails a clinical component of physician support, an outreach component of

>events. Clinically, the employee will spend time in a specialty clinic assisting with the day-to-day 
> operations. The AT will be asked to room patients, assist in the patient intake process, and pull u 
>p any necessary records relevant to the patient visit. The AT will also provide physician support by 
> assisting with patient education and post-operative procedures as requested. Other responsibilities 
> include assisting with the daily administration of clinic duties, and other tasks as assigned. Outr

>hetics. Our physicians have specific training and experience in a broad range of orthopaedic special 
>ties such as sports medicine, trauma, replacement, pediatrics, oncology, spine, shoulder and elbow,  
>foot and ankle, and hand. The Department is internationally recognized for its work in patient care, 
> education, and research. Our basic and translational research programs focus on cartilage and disc  
>regeneration, fracture healing, molecular and stem cell biology, bioengineering, and musculoskeletal 
> development.

5QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in related 4 
>field - Thorough knowledge of athletic injury prevention and the administration of therapeutic modal 
>ities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques. - Ability to work in a collaborative manner as a memb 
>er of multidisciplinary team. - Strong written and oral communication. - Excellent time management a 
>nd organizational skills. - Thorough knowledge of medical terminology appropriate to job responsibil 
>ities. - Excellent interpersonal / communication skills to interact with a diverse patient populatio 
>n. - Strong familiarity of all Microsoft Office programs. - Project management experience. - Ability 
> to provide first responder care at athletic events. - Ability to maintain discretion and confidenti 
>ality in handling sensitive matters involving athletic injures and treatments - Demonstration of rec 
>ent experience with sports medicine/event coverage/first responder care of the high school athlete o 
>r beyond. - Two (2) years’ education and/or experience in the athletic training field Preferred Lice 
>nsure: - Current and in good standing Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) with the Board of Certifi 
>cation, Inc. - AHA BLS / CPR Certification Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced degree in related fi 
>eld - Strong manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine. - For positions as 
>sociated with Sports Medicine, must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of  
>the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National  
>Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), as wel 
>l as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times, avoid any and a 
>ll violations of these rules and standards. - Previous experience working in a clinical setting with 
> physicians and office assistants.
