> Medicine Unit cares for medicine patients ranging from young adults to the elderly presenting with  
>a wide variety of diagnoses. Patients found on this unit are often admitted for acute exacerbations  
>of complex chronic conditions with a focus on pulmonary, gastrointestinal, sickle cell, renal failur 
>e, medical-psychological, and endocrine conditions. In addition, patients are admitted for diagnosti 
>c work-up and treatment of new-onset infectious disease processes. Continuous video camera monitorin 
>g and cardiac telemetry are also available, if needed, to provide comprehensive, safe patient care.  
>Collaboration between our physician colleagues (teaching services and attending services) and multid 
>isciplinary teams contributes to the high functioning teamwork found on this unit. The unit is also  
>supported by the Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), ACE RN Program Coordinator, Medical/Surg 
>ical CNS/Educators and an Oncology CNS. This cohesive team approach allows our nurses to provide a h 
>igh standard of innovative care to patients. Nursing based research that enhances nursing or improve 
>s patient care and safety is actively supported here. In addition, a nursing clinical leadership str 
>ucture is provided to support and mentor nurses of all levels of experience.

>ns Preferred Qualifications: - BSN Licensure/Certifications: - Active Registered Nurse licensure in  
>the State of California - Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
