>nical Nursing Staff, the Hospital Assistant III (Medical Assistant) assists in the delivery of care  
>to patients in multiple Cancer Center ambulatory group practices. This position supports the Cancer  
>Services and Ambulatory Services and Infusion Unit. Work includes a variety of personal care and nur 
>sing procedures including assuring positive care outcomes. They will perform assigned patient care a 
>nd laboratory procedures in support of the specialty care services provided to patients within the p 
>ractices. They are required to learn and be able to assist in all Cancer Center specialty practices.

5REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical 4 
>Center locations. - All candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria: - Certificate o 
>f training or graduation from an accredited MA, Home Health Aide, PCA, CNA, dental or paramedic prog 
>ram or college degree in a related field such as community health, infectious disease, public health 
> or health education and 6 months of relevant experience - OR - 2 years of relevant experience as a  
>Medical Assistant in a hospital or medical practice - Knowledge and abilities essential to the succe 
>ssful performance of the duties assigned to the position. - Ability to communicate effectively, both 
> directly and over the phone. - Able to meet physical requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION - Prior  
>experience in a healthcare setting working in an oncology practice - Experience with insurance verif 
>ication, medical record data abstraction, medical assisting, or patient financial services strongly  
>preferred. - Degree from accredited medical assisting school. - Bi-lingual or multi-lingual capabili 
>ty (Spanish, Cantonese, Russian) strongly preferred. - Current State of California Phlebotomy Certif 
>ication (CPT1) REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Please list - Current American Heart Association CPR
