>nd procedures of Ambulatory Services, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), provides care to OBGYN, U 
>CSF Department of Women’s Health. The LVN will play a critical role in the patient experience includ 
>ing optimizing clinic flow, providing in and outreach to patients and working collaboratively with t 
>he team to create a patient centered environment. In collaboration with the physician and nursing st 
>aff, the LVN has the clinical responsibility for maintaining a safe environment for patients and sta 
>ff, and for daily operations. The LVN is a team player who works closely with others and who is flex 
>ible in dealing with the changing priorities.  S/he is a self-reliant individual who synthesizes his 
>/her knowledge of practice operations in order to problem-solve, prioritize and facilitate complex t 
>ransactions in the course of his/her daily activities. S/he is responsible for administering medicat 
>ions, assisting with a variety of procedures, practicing basic assessment of patient medical and psy 
>cho-social needs, participating in patient education, and assisting medical providers in a variety o 
>f ways. All components of nursing care will be individualized to meet the patient’s physiological an 
>d psychosocial developmental level and needs. The Licensed Vocational Nurse has excellent oral and w 
>ritten communication skills; can work well with minimal supervision in a complex, fast pace and chal 
>lenging environment. S/he is sensitive to the needs of patients, staff, and providers at all times.  
>This position makes a difference for patients in an outpatient care unit by providing excellent nurs

5Required qualifications: - Three years related experience in fast paced OBGYN Ambulatory environment4 
>. Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the posi 
>tion. - Excellent communication skills. - Experience working in a fast-paced OBGYN setting. Experien 
>ce providing injections and drawing labs. Preferred qualifications: - LEAN methodology - Ambulatory/ 
>outpatient experience - Urology or Surgical clinic experience Licenses/Certifications: - Licensed as 
> a Vocational Nurse in the State of California. - Current American Heart Association BLS Certificate
