2We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator to join the brain imaging groups of 
>Dr. Yan Li and Dr. Janine Lupo at the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. The ideal 
> candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating research brain imaging studies. This position re 
>quires a strong background in coordination, preferably with experience working directly with clinica 
>l research coordination. The Clinical Research Coordinator will perform independently or with genera 
>l direction at the fully operational journey level of the series to execute, manage, and coordinate  
>research protocols, as directed by the Clinical Research Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator (P 
>I); may coordinate the data collection and operations of several concurrent clinical research studie 
>s under the guidelines of research protocols, UCSF and regulating agency policies. Incumbent’s dutie 
>s may include, but will not be limited to supporting the management and coordinating the tasks of mu 
>ltiple clinical research studies, depending on their size and complexity; act as intermediary betwee 
>n services and departments while overseeing data and specimen management; enroll and consent patient 
>s into research studies; manage and report on study results; create, clean, update, and manage datab 
>ases and comprehensive datasets and reports; coordinate staff work schedules, assist with training o 
>f staff/learners, and assist Clinical Research Supervisor and/or PI with oversight of other research 
> staff; manage Investigator’s protocols in the Committee on Human Research online system, as well as 
> renewals and modifications of protocol applications and the implementation of new studies; particip 
>ate in the review and writing of protocols to ensure institutional review board approval within Univ 
>ersity compliance; help assure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies; oversee study data  
>integrity; implement and maintain periodic quality control procedures; interface with departments to 
> obtain UCSF approval prior to study initiation; maintain all regulatory documents; report study pro 
>gress to investigators; participate in any internal and external audits or reviews of study protocol 
>s; and perform other duties as assigned.

5Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent experience - Excellent organizational s4 
>kills, multi-tasking, and attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent, effective ver 
>bal and written communication skills to coordinate with subjects, team members, other departments an 
>d outside institutions; and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with 
> a diverse subject population - Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely ma 
>nner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines - Ab 
>ility to work well with patients and demonstrate patience, respect, and compassion to study particip 
>ants and their families Preferred Qualifications: - BCBA certification or experience working with cl 
>inical research imaging studies - Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, biomedical imaging, ap 
>plied math, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) - Experience with brain imag 
>ing data processing techniques and/or programming skills is desirable - Proficiency in Matlab, Pytho 
>n, statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS, R) - Fluency in the usage of the Committee of Human Res 
>earch (CHR) online iMEDris system for submission, renewal, and modification of protocols through thi 
>s system - Understanding of patient population to create rapport and a relationship, while also givi 
>ng insight to what is realistic and appropriate for patient participation - Experience with electron 
>ic medical records - Knowledge of UCSF and departmental policies for dealing with reimbursement, gui 
>delines for research, confidentiality and HIPPA regulations, following the UCSF mission statement an 
>d purpose for research, and a clear understanding of policies and procedures on patient safety and c 
>onfidentiality (electronic and hard copy medical records, patient charts, communication, etc.); know 
>ledge of medical terminology, research policies and guidelines, guidelines for packing/shipping infe 
>ctious substances, database building/analysis, and data management within some of the following: Acc 
>ess, Stata, SASS/ SPSS, and Teleform programming platforms - Experience applying the following regul 
>ations and guidelines:- Good Clinical Practice Guidelines - Health Information and Accountability Ac 
>t (HIPAA) - The Protection of Human Research Subjects - CHR regulations for recruitment and consent  
>of research subjects - Effective Cash Handling Procedures - Environmental Health and Safety Training 
> - Fire Safety Training 
5 Incumbent’s duties may include, but will not be limited to supporting the management and coordinati
