>are Unit (PICU) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital provides extraordinary high-level care for child 
>ren who require continuous monitoring. The unit has 20 beds for infants and children suffering from  
>a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. More than 1,000 children per year are admitted i 
>nto the intensive care units at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital arriving via ambulance, helicopter  
>and airplane from throughout the western United States. The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP)  
>is a 18-bed unit for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from  
>surgery. The TCU provides care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease such as tho 
>se recovering from solid organ transplantation, titration of anticoagulant therapy and other infusio 
>n, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery).   Patients requiring respiratory s 
>upport including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula and patients requiring mechanical ventilation  
>with tracheostomy in place are also routinely admitted to the TCUP.  The Nurse Practitioner will act 
> as a full member of the team taking responsibility for the safe delivery of care in collaboration w

5Required Qualifications: - Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse4 
> Practitioner Program with a master’s or doctoral degree aligned with an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse  
>Specialization - Nurse Practitioner 1:- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience working as an  
>RN in a Pediatric ICU setting - Nurse Practitioner 2:- Minimum of two (2) years Nurse Practitioner e 
>xperience in a pediatric inpatient or emergency department setting AND minimum of two (2) years inpa 
>tient RN experience in pediatric critical or transitional/intermediate care- OR - Minimum of 1 year  
>of NP Experience in Pediatric Critical Care- OR - Completion of a Pediatric Critical Care APP Fellow 
>ship Program Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as an AC-P 
>NP in a level III Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Licenses/Certifications: - California Registered Nur 
>se (RN) License without restriction - California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction 
> - California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number NP national board certification from an accepted  
>certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role - Pediatric Inpatient (CPNP- 
>AC). See Addendum A below for more detail. - California Driver License (if required for position) -  
>Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered  
>to a California address - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification -  
>Additional required AHA certifications: PALS - Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): No 
>ne UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to be credentialed through it 
>s Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) to practice and function in their clinical role. T 
>his applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Cred 
>entialing takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day. You will be 
> assigned an FPPE template of procedures for CRNAs, but you may add additional privileges on request 
> with an explanation of the purpose.
